BIBLE FOR CHILDREN

JESUS SAID,“LET THE LITTLE CHILDREN COME TO ME, AND DO NOT FORBID THEM; FOR OF SUCH IS THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN." - MATTHEW 19:14

September - October 2020   /   Volume 19 : Issue 5

Half-Way!

With 234 languages now on our website, Bible for Children is more than half-way to the goal of 450 languages. There have been years of miracles and hard work, and we praise the Lord for this milestone!

We are thankful to a mission called Christian-Translation for the latest surge of new languages. They presented the Bible for Children vision to their translation teams around the world, and these dear brothers and sisters worked sacrificially (and in some cases, despite the threat of active persecution) to make BFC stories available to the world’s children. The remaining languages will be very difficult to complete, as it is increasingly difficult to find translators. But, through your prayers and God’s provision, we will press on to the goal!

Audio Bible Stories

A large portion of the people in many countries cannot read. Audio Bible stories are needed in many languages.  By God’s grace, we now have audio books in about 60 languages on our website and another 40 languages are ready to be edited. These audio books are being distributed by other missions also. Please pray that God will provide someone to help us finish this huge but essential project.

The Banqueting Table

Mary-Anne, Greg’s amazing wife, is willing to cook, so we are cautiously planning to hold our Annual World Update Banquet on November 6th,  (Friday) at 6:30 pm at Faith Church, 386 McGregor at Mountain. Yes, we will have the tables separated adequately. Masks are optional. We must have a “sign-up” sheet, so if you want to be one of the 75 guests (government restrictions) let us know by email at info@bibleforchildren.org. If you sign up and the rules change by banquet time, we will contact you. Hope to see you there!

‍Mail from Around the World

Uganda: (translated from Luganda language)

Hi. Do you sell hard copies of Bayibuli ey’abaana abato in hard copy? If so where can I purchase them? Viola

Chile: (translated from Spanish)

The purpose of this email is to thank you for making these resources

available to children and free to teach the word of the Lord, otherwise in these times it is very necessary to instruct children in the ways of the Lord. It also has the purpose of asking them for authorization to teach online through videos that we will upload on our pages (this is without charge) and it is a project that I have with my children, my oldest daughter is 13, I have twins of 12 and an 8-year-old boy, they want to teach through the PDF of the word of the Lord, so that other children learn from the word and become more motivated to learn from our Father.  Mariel

China: (translated from Chinese)

Hallelujah, I am from China, thank and praise the Lord. Amen!

(Editor’s comment. This sounds like a dear brother who is rejoicing in our

Lord and somehow has found access to Bible for Children even though

government authorities have officially blocked our website.)

Unnamed country:

I wanted to say thank you so much for allowing the world to use your wonderful coloring, ebooks, etc to share and spread the word and love of GOD. I contacted you before about your wonderful work. I am wondering if I can bring your ebooks/coloring books to life through video. The software will make the coloring and ebooks look as if they are being drawn and colored. I would not alter the wording or artwork of your ebooks but they would look as if they were being colored in on video and I would narrate the text that you have written. The text would look as if someone was typing or writing it in the video. I am planning to publish in honor of GOD, JESUS and the HOLY SPIRIT. I would follow all of your rules and you would receive recognition and thanks. Jocelyn

(Editor’s comment. Some countries are not named either because the email address does not reveal the country or because some countries have laws that punish any form of proselytizing from the State religion. For prayer purposes, always assume that protective prayer for the writer is a good response.)

Ivory Coast: (translated from French)

Hello dear brothers and sisters in Christ. May the Lord bless your mission! We are an evangelization mission in Ivory Coast. We ask your support of children's Bibles for our religious education because, we have an NGO that works for the worship of children in different regions. Please send us as much as you can.

(Editor’s comment. Requests like this are always forwarded to appropriate ministries; in this case, to the Gideons.)

‍Prayer & Praise

Praise God for 234 languages going out to so many people groups. How we long for the Holy Spirit’s anointing on every word and every story.

Pray, too, that God will open the minds and hearts of every person who visits the BFC site or comes in contact with the stories through other means.

Pray for the dear brothers and sisters who are using the stories in social media, radio and TV and in other ways.

Pray that the world’s children of this generation will be confronted with God’s  love in Christ Jesus and be saved.

Praise God for the great advances, not only in number of languages but also in the development and distribution of so many Audio books.

Pray specifically that people who may never seek out the Gospel in churches would have encounters with Jesus through the cell phones and other devices that have became a major means of impacting people’s lives.

Pray! Praise! And proclaim by your life and word the glories of our dear Redeemer, the Lord Jesus Christ.

‍Heart to Heart

‍My mother used to say we should do something “Just for fun.” I don’t believe that is the best reason for doing something (sorry, Mother). But, I suggest you do this ‘something’ just for fun:

If you would like to see how many people are using our Bible stories, search www.YouTube.com for “When God Made Everything” (use the quote marks). You will discover many productions, some approved by us and many we

never heard of. Such is the way with the Internet. So please pray that God will use all of these websites for His glory.

On another subject, I received an email one morning suggesting we apply to the provincial government for funding for summer students. Really? Is this You, Lord? I discovered that we could receive full funding in this program - with no ‘conditions’ placed upon us. I filed the application that evening, and within a few days we were approved. But could we find students so quickly?  A few days later we had hired 4 summer students.

This enabled us to tackle a huge project that was waiting in the wings – the

upgrading of all our pictures. We asked you to pray for the students in the last PrayerLink, and we thank you for those prayers. The students are now back at school. They came close to upgrading all 240,000 pictures. We hope to finish the task with volunteers. We thank the Lord. Please pray with us for His further provision to complete all stories.  Greg  V
